Downtown Hostelling International is located in the safe and beautiful West End residential neighborhood, one block from colorful Davie Street with its many shops, restaurants and cafes. A two minute walk and you're at English Bay beach, and False Creek Ferries to Granville Island. You can walk easily to Stanley Park or any downtown attraction, and there are also mountain bike rentals available and easy transit access.
Daily rates for 4 person dorms are $28 for members and $32 for non-members. The hostel membership is $24 for one year. Private rooms with hallway bathrooms are $77 for members and $85 for non-members (tax included). There are lockers for your luggage, a sink and secure key-card access.

Directions for Downtown Hostelling International
From airport: Take the Airporter Shuttle to the Sandman Suites on Davie Street ($13 each person). Walk one-half block east (left) to Thurlow Street and then one block south (right) to Burnaby Street. The hostel is on the southwest corner. Alternately, a taxi ride from the Airport is approximately $25.
From bus and train station: Go out the front door of Pacific Central Station and walk across the park diagonally to your left to the elevated Skytrain track. Buy a ticket from the machine and go two stops Westbound to Granville Station. At this point you will be underground. Go up the escalator to Seymour St., walk one block east and take a #6 Davie bus on Richards Street, (already paid for with your Skytrain ticket) to Thurlow St. (Stop is by the Shopper's Drug Mart). Cross the street at the lights and go South (down the hill) one block. The hostel is on the right on the corner of Thurlow/Burnaby Streets.

Directions for YWCA Hotel: From the Airport: bus service is available to and from Vancouver International Airport (Level 2). This service is operated by Charter Bus Lines. Please ask the driver to let you off at the Georgian Court Hotel stop. YWCA is right next door.Cost is approx. $12.00/one way.
From Train & Bus Station: Exit the Vancouver Pacific Central Bus and Train station and cross the grassy front lawn to the Main Street Skytrain station. Catch the Skytrain going west towards downtown Vancouver and disembark at the next stop - Stadium Station. Exit Stadium Station on Beatty Street - turn left. They are about 150 metres up Beatty Street on the right hand side.
By Car: From the south: Take highway 99 - over the Oak Street Bridge - take a right after the bridge onto South East Marine Drive. Turn left on Cambie Street and follow Cambie all the way over the Cambie Street Bridge (about 10-15 minutes depending upon the traffic). Once over the Cambie Street Bridge take the first right which is Beatty Street. Drive 1 1/2 blocks and you will see the YWCA Hotel/Residence on your left hand side. Take the lane just past the hotel on your left. Pull up behind the hotel into the 5 minute loading zone and enter the hotel to register. One of the Guest Services Representatives at the Front Desk will advise you where to park.
From the north (Lion's Gate Bridge): Enter downtown via Georgia Street. Follow Georgia Street for 5 to 10 minutes (depending upon traffic). Pass Granville Street, the Vancouver Public Library on your right (shaped somewhat like a Roman Coliseum), past CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation), take a right on Cambie Street. Travel one block and take a left on Robson Street, and turn left on Beatty Street (one way street). You will see the YWCA Hotel/Residence on your left. Take the lane just past the hotel, on your left, and pull up behind the hotel into the 5 minute loading zone and enter the hotel to register.
